The Safe, Powerful, and Rugged Subaru Outback will Consistently Outperform any Honda CR-V Crossover

 

Here at Don Miller Subaru East we regularly get drivers coming in to our showroom to check out the Subaru Outback which is unsurprising since it is one of America's favorite AWD hatchbacks. One of the vehicles that drivers tend to take into consideration along with the Outback is the Honda CR-V crossover. There is a lot that these two vehicles have in common, but in the end we think that most drivers will agree that the Outback is really the stronger option.

While it is true that Honda vehicles have a reputation for longevity, nobody should ever doubt the lasting power of a Subaru since so many families seem to keep them around for multiple generations. Subaru models like the Outback are built to be beat up. It comes with standard AWD and is made from sturdy materials that will hold up off-road and in an accident.

The CR-V boasts a 185 horsepower 2.4-liter engine that gets 34 mpg on the highway. The Outback offers two engine choices including a 175 horsepower 2.5-liter model with 33 mpg highway  and a larger 3.6-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine maxing out at 256 horsepower.

It is true that the Subaru Outback has a slightly larger starting price than the Honda CR-V, but it's hard to put a value on a safety rating like the Outback has. It has consistently earned IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ ratings for the past several years and is considered to be one of the best cars to be in in the event of an accident.
